Pilates Reformer Hire with Option to Buy
A reformer is a big purchase, and it is hard to know if one will suit you until you have trained on it at home. Hire a foldable reformer from $39 per week, then decide whether to keep it. We're Australian owned and operated, and our Sydney team looks after advice, delivery and installation.

How hiring a reformer works with us
The short version
You hire a foldable reformer from $39 per week, with a $300 refundable deposit and a 12-week minimum. Use it in your own space, then decide whether to keep going. Hire and purchase are separate, so there is no pressure to buy.
What you get and how it starts
Once the deposit is paid, we email you a link to finalise the rental agreement. Each hire includes:
- A jump board
- A sitting box
- Two months of free access to the Pilates Project OnDemand App
The reformers are foldable and made for home use, with five spring options and adjustable components. We confirm terms and availability when you enquire.
Why test it first
A reformer bed feels different in your lounge room than it does on a showroom floor. Hiring lets you see how it fits your space and routine before committing.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the reformer that fits your space and your budget.
Pilates Direct Team, Pilates Reformer & Equipment Specialists
Proper form matters on any reformer, so we suggest learning with a qualified instructor.
Is there a rent-to-own contract?
No. At Pilates Direct, hire and purchase are two separate arrangements, so there is no formal rent-to-own contract tying you to a sale. You hire a reformer to test the practice or a particular model, and you only decide on ownership once you know it suits you.
If you do want to keep going, you can move to a 0% interest payment plan on a foldable pilates reformer instead. A deposit confirms the order and the balance is spread over instalments agreed with our team before delivery. If you'd like to see equipment in person first, you can try before you buy at our Sydney showroom.
Moving from hire to a payment plan
If you decide to keep your reformer, you place a new order for the model you want and pay it off through a 0% interest direct debit plan.
Two examples show how the plans are structured. The PP-06 Foldable Reformer is a $750 deposit, then 39 weekly payments of $42.55. The MP-01 Reformer package is a $990 deposit, then 39 weekly payments of $68.57. Both run over nine months with no interest.
The order steps are straightforward. Buy online or by phone and pay the deposit. We then email a link to finalise your payment plan agreement. After that, our team arranges shipping or store pickup with you.

Who hire suits best
Hiring first suits anyone who wants to be sure before they commit to owning a reformer. These are the situations where it tends to make the most sense:
- Newcomers building a home habit. Try low-impact, full-body training at your own pace and see whether it fits your week before you buy.
- People returning from injury. Check with your physiotherapist or doctor for clearance first, and train with qualified instruction so your form stays sound.
- Temporary living situations. If you are renting, relocating or between homes, a foldable reformer on hire avoids buying equipment you cannot keep.
- New studios managing cash flow. Hire lets you start running sessions and build a client base while holding off a larger upfront spend.
What to know before you hire
Hire is available only in Sydney and a 150km radius, covering greater Sydney, Wollongong, Newcastle and the Central Coast. You can collect your reformer free from our Castle Hill store.
While it's on rental, you're responsible for any loss, damage or destruction of the reformer or its accessories. Your agreement arrives by email once the deposit is paid, so read it through before you start.
If you're outside that area, hire isn't available, but you can still buy, with nationwide delivery. Anyone returning from an injury should get clearance from a physiotherapist or doctor first.
Common questions about hiring and buying
What happens at the end of the rental?
Hire runs for a 12-week minimum at $39 per week, with a $300 refundable deposit. Hire and purchase are separate, so we'll confirm the end-of-hire steps with you when you set up your agreement.
Can I buy the reformer I hired?
Yes. If you decide to keep training, you can buy and move to a 0% interest payment plan. If your model isn't listed, ask us whether a plan can be arranged.
Can I try a reformer in your showroom first?
Yes, our Sydney showroom lets you try before you buy. Ask a qualified instructor to guide your first sessions on any reformer.
Do I need medical clearance if I'm recovering from an injury?
Please speak to your physiotherapist or doctor before you start. We can talk through the equipment, but clearance for your situation needs to come from them.
Ready to try a reformer at home?
