Why hotels lease reformers instead of buying

Keep your capital for the rest of the property

Leasing lowers the upfront outlay and spreads the cost into a predictable monthly figure. Your fit-out budget can go to the rooms, the pool or the spa, rather than sitting in a row of equipment you haven't yet seen guests use. Servicing is handled by professionals too, which suits teams who would rather not manage it themselves.

Test the offering before you commit

Guest demand is hard to predict, especially for a new hotel wellness offering. A lease lets you try commercial reformers in your own space, watch how guests respond and see what upkeep each model needs before settling on one.

Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the reformer that fits your space and your budget. Leasing gives you room to get that right.

Scale up or change course as demand becomes clear

If classes fill quickly, you can add units. If a different model suits your guests better, you can upgrade rather than being tied to an early decision. That flexibility is the main commercial case for leasing: you stay in control of the offering as it grows.

What a hotel lease with Pilates Direct includes

We offer four commercial terms, so you can match the arrangement to how your hotel actually trades. Every option comes with the same support behind it.

  • Short-term rentals (3 to 6 months): suits seasonal trade, a pop-up wellness programme or a trial run in a new space.
  • 12-month leases: suits an established hotel gym or studio that wants a settled setup without buying outright.
  • Rent-to-own: suits hotels that want to try commercial reformers in their own environment, then move to ownership when ready.
  • Multi-reformer bundles: suits a new gym fit-out or a dedicated studio that needs several units at once.
  • Delivery and installation: we get the reformers into your space and set up, so your team isn't left with the assembly.
  • Aftercare support: our team is on hand once the equipment is in place.
  • Qualified instruction: we recommend qualified Pilates instructors lead guest sessions so form and safe use are looked after.

Commercial-grade reformers built for busy rooms

A hotel reformer needs to cope with back-to-back guest use, not the occasional home session. The Motion reformer is a good example: an aircraft-grade aluminium frame, moisture-resistant upholstery over high-density foam, and a rating of up to 150 sessions per week. It also has 5 resistance springs, an adjustable footbar, an extended carriage and a commercial warranty. Rentals start from $150 per month.

Motion sits alongside trusted brands such as Pioneer Pilates, and our commercial range also covers chairs, barrels and trapeze tables for hotels wanting a fuller studio.

You can try the equipment at our Sydney showroom before you commit to anything.

From first conversation to a working hotel studio

Our standard hire programme is built for households, with foldable reformers, a 12-week minimum and delivery within Sydney plus a 150km radius. Hotels need the commercial rental or purchase route instead.

It starts with a short conversation about your space, guest numbers and timing. From there we recommend commercial reformers and agree lease terms. Then we handle delivery and installation, and stay on hand with aftercare once guests are using the room.

If a lease isn't the right fit, there are other ways to equip the space. We sell used and demo units, offer payment plans, and put together clinical reformer packages for larger fit-outs.

Questions hotel managers ask about leasing reformers

How long does a reformer lease run?

Terms are flexible. Commercial options include short-term rentals of 3 to 6 months, 12-month leases, rent-to-own and bundle deals for multiple reformers. The right fit depends on whether you're covering a seasonal peak or equipping a permanent studio.

Can we buy the reformers later?

Yes. Rent-to-own is one of the commercial arrangements we offer, so you can start with a lease and move to ownership once you know the equipment suits your space and your guests.

What happens if a reformer needs servicing?

Professional maintenance is one of the main benefits of commercial rental, and our aftercare support is there if something needs attention. Tell us about any issue and we'll arrange the next step.

How many reformers suit our space?

That depends on your floor area, guest numbers and how you plan to run sessions. We're happy to look at your space with you from our Sydney showroom or by sharing a floor plan, and advise on a sensible number and layout.

Can you help with set-up?

Yes. We handle delivery and installation as part of the commercial service, so your team isn't left assembling equipment or working out where it should sit.

Do guests with injuries need medical clearance?

Guests who are injured or unsure should speak to a physiotherapist or doctor before using a reformer. Reformers should also only be used with proper form, ideally under qualified instruction, so we recommend hotels have a qualified instructor on hand.
