What a jump board adds to a reformer bed
A mini trampoline built into your reformer
A jump board attaches to the end of your reformer bed and turns the carriage into a mini trampoline. You push against the board with your feet, which opens up low-impact plyometric work that lifts your heart rate while keeping your body supported.
It is a simple way to add cardio to a full-body Pilates session without leaving the machine. You can browse the attachment on its own in our jumpboards collection.
What it builds
Jumping on the board engages several muscle groups at once. Regular sessions can support:
- Cardiovascular endurance
- Leg strength
- Coordination
- Overall body control
Who it suits
Because you lie on your back and the springs control the resistance, the work is gentler on joints than jumping on the floor. That makes it a practical choice for home users who want variety, and for studio owners who want to offer a cardio option on a reformer they already run.
You set your own pace, from gentle bounces to faster rhythms.
Reformer packages that include a jump board
Three packages in our range come with a jump board, and they suit different spaces and set-ups. Here is what each one includes, so you can compare them side by side.
- MP-01 Wood Reformer package: a Motion Pilates reformer bundled with a large sitting box, jumpboard, padded standing platform, footstrap, ropes and handstraps.
- MP-01 rail structure: a rock-solid yet smooth carriage ride, with multiple holes for carriage stoppers so you can extend or limit the range of motion.
- PP-06 foldable package: includes a jump board and sitting box, a 7-position foot bar, and adjustable legs that set carriage height between 26cm and 36cm from the floor.
- Reformer package: a jumpboard is included, while the sitting box is available as an additional-cost purchase.
How do you use a jump board safely?
Lie on your back on the carriage, place your feet on the jump board and start with gentle jumps, cushioning each landing so your joints absorb the impact bit by bit.
Once the movement feels controlled, build your speed a little at a time. From there you can try variations such as single-leg jumps or lateral movements.
A jump board is a low-impact way to lift your heart rate, but proper form and qualified instruction matter, so learn the basics with a trained instructor. If you're returning from an injury or have a joint concern, check with your physiotherapist or doctor before you begin.
What to check before you buy
Build, springs and glide
A good reformer with jump board starts with the frame. Look for commercial-grade aluminium or steel, reinforced welding at the stress points, non-slip rubber feet and sealed-bearing wheels that glide without a hitch. You should also find at least 4-5 spring settings with quick-release adjustment, and a carriage that glides without catching.
The MP-01 package is a good example, with a rail structure built for a solid yet smooth carriage ride.
Accessories and space
Check what is in the box. A jump board, sitting box, footstrap, ropes and handstraps all matter, and some packages charge extra for items others include. Then measure up: a standard reformer bed measures about 230-250cm long and 65-70cm wide, so confirm the footprint for your chosen model.
Why an Australian specialist helps
We are Australian owned and operated, and we back every reformer with delivery, installation and aftercare, so you are not left with a flat-packed question mark. A home reformer can also make sense against ongoing class fees, depending on how often you plan to use it.
Start with how you'll use it, then pick the reformer that fits your space and your budget.

Common questions about reformers with jump boards
Is a jump board suitable for people with joint issues?
A jump board is a low-impact attachment, so it's often a gentler option than jumping on the floor. If you have an injury or a joint condition, check with your doctor or physiotherapist before you start.
Can I add a jump board to any reformer?
No. A jump board can be added to certain reformer machines, not every model. Tell us which reformer you own and we'll confirm whether a jump board from our jumpboards collection fits it.
Does the package include a sitting box?
It depends on the package. The MP-01 Wood Reformer package and the PP-06 foldable package both include a sitting box. With the ex-demo reformer package, the jumpboard is included but the sitting box costs extra.
How much space do I need?
Standard reformer beds measure roughly 230-250cm long, 65-70cm wide and 40-45cm high, and the exact size varies by model. Leave room around the frame for getting on and off and for moving the carriage. If space is tight, the PP-06 is a foldable option.
Can I try one before I commit?
Yes. Visit our Sydney showroom to try a reformer with a jump board in person. We also offer rent-to-own and payment plan options if you'd like to spread the cost.
