What is a half trapeze reformer?
A reformer carriage with a tower at one end
A half trapeze reformer pairs a studio-grade reformer carriage with a single-end tower at the foot end. The tower typically includes a push-through bar, arm springs and leg springs, and in some models a roll-down bar. Pilates Direct stocks these for boutique studios, physiotherapy clinics and home practitioners.
What the tower adds
The tower opens up standing spring work, push-through bar exercises, roll-downs, and arm and leg spring series. The carriage itself stays fully functional, so every standard reformer exercise is still available. You are adding options, not giving anything up.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the setup that fits your space. A half trapeze suits people who want tower work without a huge footprint.

Why people choose it
It suits practitioners who want to extend into classical tower work without the larger footprint and ceiling height a full Cadillac needs. Because it attaches at one end only, it works in many residential and studio rooms. As with any apparatus, proper form and qualified instruction matter, so learn the tower exercises with a trained instructor.
A closer look at the Half Trapeze Reformer Tower
The Half Trapeze Reformer Tower is built from brushed stainless steel with an automotive-grade finish, with sweat-resistant vulcanised rubber on the contact areas and knot-less reforested wood in a satin matte finish. It suits boutique studios and home practitioners who want a premium-quality build. The rubber coating is easy to grip, and the timber is sustainably sourced. It is back in stock, but supply is limited. Come and see it in our Sydney showroom. What comes with the tower
The Half Trapeze Reformer Tower ships with the accessories below, so you can set up without hunting for extras:
- Hand and foot straps, plus handles
- Abdomen handle
- Safety strap
- Jump board
- 21 carabiners
- Rope system
- 13 springs
- Roll-down bar and extension
Will it fit in my room?
For most standard residential and studio rooms, yes. A half trapeze tower typically stands about 160cm to 180cm above the floor, and because hanging exercises aren't performed on it, you don't need the 220cm ceiling height a full trapeze calls for.
On the floor, plan for roughly the same footprint as a standard half trapeze reformer, around 250cm x 70cm. Leave clearance on both sides so an instructor can move around you comfortably.
Before you buy, confirm the exact dimensions on the product page. If you plan to pair a pilates tower with a reformer you already own, check compatibility too, as towers are generally designed around specific end-cap designs and frame dimensions.

Half trapeze or full trapeze: which suits you?
A half trapeze suits many home practitioners, boutique studios and clinics. It gives you tower-based spring and bar work at one end of the machine, without the overhead structure of a full trapeze. A full trapeze runs the length of the frame and allows hanging exercises and supported inversions, so it's the upgrade for those who want a fully comprehensive single-apparatus setup.
If you're returning from an injury, please get clearance from your physiotherapist or doctor before using any reformer. Trying both setups in the showroom is a fast way to feel the difference.
Questions we get asked
Do I need to book a visit to see a half trapeze reformer in Sydney?
We recommend booking so someone is free to walk you through the machine and answer questions. Our Sydney showroom lets you try before you buy, and a set time means you get proper attention rather than a quick look.
Can I add a tower to the reformer I already own?
Possibly. Towers are usually designed for specific reformer models or frame configurations, so it depends on your end-cap design and frame dimensions. Send us your reformer details and we'll check compatibility before you commit.
How do rent to own and payment plans work?
We offer both rent-to-own and payment plan options for home or studio buyers. Terms are confirmed at the time of your enquiry, so ask us in the showroom or by message and we'll walk you through what's currently available.
Is the half trapeze suitable for rehabilitation settings?
Physiotherapy clinics do use reformers with a half trapeze, thanks to the push-through bar and spring system. If you're recovering from an injury, check with your physiotherapist or doctor first.
Do you offer used or demo stock?
Stock changes, so we can't promise particular pieces. Ask us what's currently available when you get in touch, and we'll tell you honestly what we have.
Does delivery include installation?
Yes. We provide delivery and installation support, plus aftercare, so you aren't left assembling a tower on your own.
