What happens when your reformer arrives?
How the delivery works
Your reformer arrives in a wooden crate, and the truck unloads it by tailgate at the curb. From there, getting it inside is your responsibility, so it helps to know what you are dealing with before the day. The crate may need two physically capable people to accept it safely.
Every large item must be signed for. Someone needs to be at the delivery address, and we recommend an adult over 18 accepts it. Carrier terms on who can sign can vary.
If nobody is home
If no one is there when the courier arrives, they leave a note and re-attempt delivery. Choosing a time when someone will definitely be on site saves you a second wait.
Measure the path from the curb to the final spot before delivery day, not after. A reformer is long and awkward, and doorways are where most surprises happen.

Plan access around the size
As a guide, the Motion Pilates folding reformer is 235cm long, 58cm wide and about 60kg assembled. It folds to 158cm, which can make tight turns and storage easier.
How to prepare your space before delivery
A little planning before the crate arrives makes the day straightforward. Check each of these against your own setup.
- Measure the route. Check every doorway, hallway, corner and staircase between the curb and the room, using the dimensions above as a guide.
- Arrange two capable people. Our truck unloads by tailgate at the curb, so getting the crate inside is up to you.
- Choose the final spot. Decide where it will live and clear the floor space, leaving room around the frame to move safely. Confirm the floor suits the machine.
- Have an adult over 18 available to sign. All large item deliveries must be signed for.
- Ask us about larger models. Installation charges may apply for trapeze and Cadillac models. Contact the Pilates Direct team before delivery to confirm what applies to your order.
Personalised delivery and installation in Greater Sydney
If you're in the Greater Sydney region, the Pilates Direct team can deliver and install your studio reformer in person. We confirm the order and your space first, then bring the equipment on the day and set it up in the room where it will live.
On delivery day, we work through installation with you and finish with a handover, so you know how everything is meant to be set up and used. Proper form and qualified instruction still matter once you start, so we'd always suggest working with an instructor.
Installation charges may apply to trapeze and Cadillac models, as they're larger and take longer to install.
To ask about details for your address, call or message the store. You're also welcome to visit our Sydney showroom, where you can try equipment before you buy.
Can every reformer be delivered to a home address?
Not every reformer can go to a home address by curbside delivery. Some large packages, including our studio and half trapeze reformer packages, are too big for a standard residential drop because of crate size and freight restrictions.
If your chosen model is restricted, you still have two options. Depot shipping is available in both metro and regional locations, so you can collect from a freight depot with a suitable vehicle and helpers.
If you'd rather have it brought to your door, a contractor can be arranged for residential delivery at an additional cost. Because of the crate size, it's worth confirming which option suits your property before you order.
Whichever route you take, check access and placement early.

Delivery and installation questions
How long does setup take?
Our reformers come with easy-to-follow instructions and can be set up in under 15 minutes, with step-by-step videos online and support from the Pilates Direct team on request. Trapeze and Cadillac models are larger, so installation takes longer.
Who can accept the delivery?
Someone must be at the address to sign for it, and we recommend an adult over 18. Carrier terms can vary. If nobody is home, the courier leaves a note and re-attempts delivery.
Is assembly included?
Assembly options are available, so your reformer can arrive correctly assembled. Installation charges may apply for trapeze and Cadillac models. Ask us to confirm what applies to your order.
What happens with a payment plan order?
Once your deposit is paid and the agreement is finalised, we contact you to organise shipping or a pickup time from our Sydney showroom.
