Test a Reformer Before Buying

Not sure a reformer will suit your body, your space or your budget? The easiest way to find out is to try one at our Sydney showroom. If you can't get in, you can start with a rental, a demo unit or a deposit-only payment plan, then commit once you're sure.

What testing in person shows you that a spec sheet can't

A reformer is a machine you'll use for years, and photos and spec sheets can't tell you how it feels under your body. Glide, stability and fit only become clear when you get on one. That's why we offer try before you buy at our Sydney showroom.

When you visit, the Pilates Direct team lets you try different models side by side, then talks through your space, your experience level and how you plan to train. You leave with a recommendation based on you, not a one-size pitch.

Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the reformer that fits your space and your budget. Trying a few in person makes the choice a lot easier.

What you test for depends on where the machine will live. A home reformer is judged on storage, footprint and everyday comfort, while a commercial machine is judged on durability and how it copes with constant use by different clients. Our range covers both, so you can compare a home model against a studio reformer like with like. Good form and qualified instruction matter on any reformer, so ask an instructor to guide your first sessions.

Four ways to try a reformer before you commit

If a showroom visit isn't practical, or you want longer than one session to decide, these options let you get a feel for a machine first.

Common questions before you test or buy

Do I need Pilates experience to test a reformer?

No. The Pilates Direct team can walk you through the basics so you can get a feel for the machine, even if you've never used one. If you're a beginner, we'd encourage booking a session with a qualified instructor as well.

Can I try one if I can't get to the Sydney showroom?

Yes. Our rental reformers are available year round, so you can use one at home or in your studio before you buy. Renting suits home users who want flexibility, and studios that want to manage cash flow while building their client base.

What happens after I buy?

We handle delivery and installation, and our team stays on for aftercare. Read the warranty terms on our warranty page before you purchase, so you know exactly what's covered.

Is a reformer suitable if I'm managing an injury?

That's a question for your doctor or physiotherapist. Please get their clearance before using a reformer, and ask them which exercises suit you. We can't make that call for you.

Is a reformer worth it compared with classes?

It depends on how often you'd use it and what suits your routine. Our buyers' guide covers what to weigh up, and a payment plan can spread the cost if you decide to go ahead.
