Two machines, two different jobs

A Cadillac and reformer package gives you carriage-based resistance work and overhead spring, bar and hanging work in one purchase. You can get there with a standalone Cadillac (also called a trapeze table) beside a reformer bed, or with a full trapeze reformer that puts both on one frame.

The reformer moves you through a sliding carriage and springs. The Cadillac has its own raised padded table and a full overhead frame, with no carriage at all.

Who tends to buy the pair

Home owners stepping up from a single reformer often want the extra variety. Instructors and new studios want a wider class offering. Clinics like having separate apparatus for assisted work, with a standalone Cadillac table running its own sessions alongside reformer classes.

Start with how you'll actually use it. If you want reformer classes and table work running side by side, two separate pieces often make sense.

Whichever route you take, proper form and qualified instruction matter on both machines.

Standalone Cadillac tables: the details that matter

A standalone Cadillac is a raised, padded table with a full overhead frame, and it needs no reformer base. Most models house a push-through bar, roll-down bar, arm springs, leg springs, trapeze bar and push-down bar, so a single piece covers hanging, spring and bar work.

Build quality shows in the materials. The Cadillac Table from this brand uses fine wood and brushed stainless steel for strength and durability, and the brand says its timber is reforested. The brand also positions its range for commercial and professional studios as well as private use.

The Motion Pilates Cadillac Table package includes the table, trapeze frame and trapeze attachments, in a Canadian Maplewood finish with black upholstery.

What you get with the MP-01 Reformer Package

The MP-01 Reformer Package covers the reformer side of a Cadillac and reformer setup. Here is what comes in the box:

  • Wood reformer with a rail system that gives a stable, smooth carriage ride
  • Multiple carriage stopper holes, so you can extend or limit the range of motion
  • Large sitting box
  • Jump board
  • Padded standing platform
  • Foot strap
  • Ropes and hand straps

Should you buy separate pieces or a full trapeze reformer?

Separate pieces suit studios that run both machines at once

Buy a standalone Cadillac and a reformer if you want two people working on two machines at the same time. A standalone Cadillac needs no reformer base and can run dedicated apparatus sessions alongside your reformer classes.

The trade-off is floor space, since you're housing two machines.

A full trapeze reformer suits tighter spaces and varied programming

A full trapeze reformer puts an overhead tower along the whole length of the reformer bed. You get carriage-based resistance work and the hanging, spring and bar work of a Cadillac on one frame, which is why studios and physiotherapy clinics often choose it for maximum versatility from a single machine. For most purposes it replaces a standalone cadillac table.

The catch is that only one client can use it at a time.

Full or half trapeze?

A full trapeze has attachment points at both the head and foot ends. That allows hanging exercises, supported inversions and work off the end of the carriage. A half trapeze attaches at one end only, giving you tower-based spring and bar work without the full overhead structure.

Clients with an injury should get clearance from a physiotherapist or doctor first.

Check your space before you order

A standalone Cadillac needs about 240cm x 80cm of floor space and 220cm or more of overhead clearance, so confirm your ceiling height before you buy, and allow extra room around the frame to move safely. We'll help you check the measurements against your room and recommend a layout.

Cadillac springs work vertically and at angles, unlike a reformer's horizontal springs, so each exercise needs its own resistance calibration. That's another reason qualified instruction matters here.

If you're in Sydney, our showroom lets you try before you buy, and we handle delivery, installation and aftercare.

Common questions about Cadillac and reformer packages

How much ceiling height do I need?

A standalone Cadillac needs about 220cm or more of overhead clearance for hanging trapeze exercises, plus a floor footprint of roughly 240cm x 80cm. Measure your ceiling before you buy, and tell us if you're unsure so we can check it against the model you're considering.

Does a full trapeze reformer replace a Cadillac?

For most purposes, yes. A full trapeze reformer carries the overhead tower along the full length of the reformer, so it replicates what a standalone Cadillac does on one frame. A half trapeze attaches at one end only, so it gives tower-based spring and bar work without the full overhead structure.

Is a Cadillac and reformer package suited to home or studio use?

Both. Home setups work well when ceiling height and floor space allow, and studios often run Cadillac and reformer sessions side by side. Whatever the setting, proper form and qualified instruction matter, particularly on a Cadillac, where spring resistance is set differently for each exercise.

Can clinics use a Cadillac?

Yes. Studios and clinics use Cadillac tables for dedicated apparatus sessions, including assisted movement for clients with limited range of motion. Anyone returning from an injury should get clearance from their physiotherapist or doctor before starting, and a qualified instructor should guide the programme.
