What a half trapeze reformer actually is
A reformer carriage with a tower at one end
A half trapeze reformer is a studio-quality reformer carriage paired with a single-end tower at the foot end. It is a pilates reformer with trapeze features rather than a full overhead frame: the tower typically brings a push-through bar, arm springs and leg springs, and some models add a roll-down bar. Think of it as a good middle step between a basic reformer and a full Cadillac reformer.
Every standard reformer exercise stays available
The carriage works exactly as it would without the tower, so nothing you already do on a reformer is lost. You simply gain extra spring and bar options at one end. That makes it a practical pick for home users stepping up from the basics, and for studios wanting more variety from one machine.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the reformer that fits your space and your budget.

How the accessories vary by model
Sets differ between models, so check what is included. The half trapeze tower lists a roll-down bar, 13 springs and a jump board. The Motion Pilates half trapeze adds a sitting box and 3 standing platforms. Proper form and qualified instruction matter on any of them.
What to weigh up before you buy
A half trapeze tower adds work at the foot end on top of everything a standard reformer does. Here is what the tower brings, and what to check as you compare pilates reformer equipment.
- Standing spring work: stand on the carriage or a platform and work against the springs. The Motion Pilates Half Trapeze Reformer includes 3 standing platforms.
- Roll-downs: use the roll-down bar, which comes with the half trapeze tower.
- Push-through bar variations: a wider range of bar exercises than the carriage alone offers.
- Arm and leg spring work: loaded movements using the tower's spring attachment points.
- Adjustability: look for an adjustable pilates reformer with multiple carriage-stopper holes and spring settings, so one machine suits different bodies and programmes.
- Frame and build: timber, aluminium and steel frames each have trade-offs in weight, feel and durability. If you are weighing an aluminum reformer against timber, try both in person.
- Everything a standard reformer does: the carriage stays fully functional, so existing footwork, box and strap exercises remain available.
Half trapeze models we stock
We stock two half trapeze options: the Pilates Half Trapeze Reformer Tower and the Motion Pilates Half Trapeze Reformer. Both suit home or studio use, so the choice usually comes down to accessories and frame.
The first tower comes with hand and foot straps, an abdomen handle, a safety strap, a jump board, 21 carabiners, 13 springs, a roll-down bar and extension. The brand says its timber is reforested.
The Motion Pilates model has a Canadian Maplewood frame with black upholstery. Its rail structure gives a smooth carriage ride, and multiple carriage-stopper holes let you extend or limit range of motion. It includes a sitting box, a jump board and 3 standing platforms.
You can try either in our Sydney showroom, alongside our wider range of reformers, chairs, barrels and trapeze tables. If you want a feel for professional pilates apparatus before committing, this is a straightforward way to do it.
Will a half trapeze fit in my space?
Probably, yes. A half trapeze reformer needs about the same floor space as a standard studio reformer, around 250cm x 70cm, and the tower only rises 160-180cm above the floor.
Hanging trapeze work is different. It needs 220cm or more of height, which is why a full trapeze can be a tight fit under a standard ceiling.
For a home studio, measure the floor area first, then allow room to step around the carriage and stand at the foot end for tower work. A reformer with tower at one end skips the overhead structure, so it suits rooms with ordinary ceiling heights.
If you're unsure about your room, send us the measurements and we'll help you judge the fit before you commit.

Half trapeze or full trapeze: which suits you?
A half trapeze suits many home practitioners, boutique studios and physio rooms. It attaches at one end for standing spring work and push-through bar variations. A full reformer trapeze combination runs the whole machine length and adds hanging work, supported inversions and work off the end of the carriage. It suits classical, clinical or advanced programmes.
The Motion Pilates Full Trapeze turns the whole reformer bed into a usable trapeze area. The Pioneer Pilates Cadillac table is a standalone apparatus with a stainless steel full trapeze tower and 16 carabiner attachment points. If you have heard of trapeze table pilates, that is the Cadillac-style option.
We can talk you through which fits your space and training context. Whichever you choose, we handle delivery and installation so it is set up properly, and our aftercare team stays available once it is in place. We are Australian owned and operated, so you deal with people who answer for what they sell.
Proper form and qualified instruction matter on any trapeze setup. If you are returning from injury, get medical clearance from your doctor or physiotherapist before you start.
Half trapeze reformer questions
How is a half trapeze different from a full trapeze reformer?
A half trapeze attaches at one end for standing spring work, push-through bar and arm and leg spring variations. A full trapeze runs the whole machine, adding hanging exercises and inversions. Compare the Motion Pilates Full Trapeze if you want that extra range.
Will it fit under a standard ceiling?
Usually, yes. The footprint is around 250cm x 70cm, and the tower reaches only 160-180cm, compared with 220cm or more for hanging trapeze work.
Is it suited to home or studio use?
Both. Half trapezes suit boutique studios, physiotherapy rooms and dedicated home practitioners. The half trapeze reformer tower is aimed at commercial and private use. For a full pilates studio equipment fit-out, ask us about commercial packages.
Which accessories come with it?
It depends on the model. The Motion Pilates half trapeze includes a sitting box, jump board and 3 standing platforms. Boxes, hand straps and rings are compatible extras. Qualified instruction matters for any exercise.
Can I rent to own, and do you deliver to Dural?
