Frame and joints

A heavy duty Cadillac table is one built to take daily, repeated use without loosening, flexing or wearing out. In practice, that comes down to the frame. The Cadillac table uses a stainless steel structure with cast steel joints, which adds strength and accuracy where the overhead frame meets the table.

That matters because a Cadillac carries a full trapeze tower above a raised, padded bed. Joints and uprights take load from many angles, so solid construction is the first thing we look at.

Timber and finish

The wood matters just as much as the metal. This model uses fine reforested, knot-free timber finished in a satin matte varnish that resists moisture and scratches. Knot-free timber gives a consistent surface, and the varnish helps the table cope with studio humidity, sweat and constant contact.

Start with how often the table will be used, then check the frame, joints and finish. Those three things tell you how well it will last.

Why it matters for your setup

Durability counts heavily in commercial and professional studios, where one table may be used all day by different people. It also suits a serious home studio where you want equipment that lasts for years.

We stock trusted brands, including Pioneer Pilates and Motion Pilates, so you can compare build quality across the range, from the Cadillac to a pilates bed.

Heavy duty Cadillac tables we stock

We carry three Cadillac tables, each built for regular use. Here is what sets each one apart.

  • Pilates Cadillac: stainless steel structure with cast steel joints, plus knot-free reforested wood in a satin matte varnish that resists moisture and scratches.
  • Pioneer Pilates Cadillac: stainless steel full trapeze tower with 16 carabine attachment points, used in commercial studios and suited to home setups too.
  • Motion Pilates Cadillac: Canadian Maplewood with black upholstery and attachments, supplied with the trapeze frame and trapeze attachments included.
  • Every table is a standalone apparatus with its own padded surface and overhead frame, so no reformer base is needed.
  • Delivery and installation come with each purchase, with aftercare support once it is in place.

Who a heavy duty Cadillac suits

A heavy duty Cadillac table suits professional Pilates studios, physiotherapy clinics and teacher training facilities, along with serious home users who have the floor space and ceiling height. It is generally chosen by intermediate to advanced practitioners, and by clinics that want a wide range of spring and bar setups on one apparatus.

It sits alongside reformers rather than replacing them, so many studios add one to offer dedicated apparatus sessions.

Seeing one in person helps. At our Sydney showroom you can touch the timber and stainless steel, test a Cadillac table before you buy, and talk through your space and clients with our team. Proper form and qualified instruction matter on any apparatus, and anyone returning from injury should get clearance from a physiotherapist or doctor first.

Check your space before you buy

A standalone Cadillac table needs roughly 240cm x 80cm of floor space and a minimum of 220cm of overhead clearance for exercises that use the hanging trapeze bar. Confirm your ceiling height first, because the overhead frame typically reaches 200 to 210cm and the room has to accommodate it.

Measure the full footprint, then allow extra room to move around the table and to get on and off safely. If you're planning a home studio, check for light fittings, fans or beams in the overhead zone.

If your ceilings are standard height, a half trapeze reformer may be the more practical choice. It mounts to the end of a reformer and gives you core attachment points without the full overhead structure. We're happy to talk through your measurements before you decide.

Cadillac table questions we hear often

Does a Cadillac table replace a reformer?

No. A Cadillac is designed to complement reformer-based training, not replace it. The two apparatus serve different movement purposes, which is why many studios run both for a complete classical circuit.

How is a Cadillac different from a full trapeze reformer or a tower?

A Cadillac is a standalone apparatus with its own raised, padded table and full overhead frame. A full trapeze reformer builds that frame onto a reformer carriage in one unit, while a tower attaches to a reformer you already own.

How do the arm and leg springs work?

Springs attach at different heights along the overhead frame. Arm springs are lighter and suit upper body and standing work, while leg springs are heavier for lower body and assisted stretching. Because they pull vertically and at angles, each exercise needs its own resistance setting, so qualified instruction matters.

Do you offer commercial fit-out packages?

Yes. We offer commercial fit-out packages for studios, arranged by phone. Contact the Pilates Direct team and we'll work through your space and equipment mix.
