How Much Space Does a Cadillac Table Need
Plan for roughly 240cm x 80cm of floor space and 220cm or more of overhead clearance. We're an Australian owned and operated supplier, and we'll help you confirm the fit from your room measurements before you commit, or you can try one at our Sydney showroom.

The floor space you need
The footprint of a standalone Cadillac table
A standalone Cadillac table needs roughly 240cm x 80cm of floor space for the apparatus itself, according to our Cadillac table collection. Treat that as a starting point, because the exact figures vary by model and brand, including options from Pioneer Pilates and Motion Pilates.
Why it takes more room than a mat or reformer setup
A Cadillac table is a standalone apparatus with its own padded table surface. It is not a frame that sits over another machine. The Pioneer Pilates Cadillac adds a stainless steel trapeze tower with 16 carabine attachment points, and that frame is part of what sets its footprint.

For scale, the Pioneer PP-07 foldable reformer measures 235cm x 64cm unfolded. The Cadillac is similar in length but noticeably wider, and it does not fold away.
Working room around the table
The footprint is only the table itself. You also need space to walk around it, move equipment and work comfortably at either end, so plan for more floor than the measurements alone suggest.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then pick the equipment that fits your space. The table's footprint is only part of the picture.

Ceiling height matters as much as floor area
Why the tower sets the height you need
On a Cadillac table, ceiling height often decides whether the room works. The overhead frame typically reaches around 200cm to 210cm, and you need 220cm of clearance for the full range of exercises, particularly those using the hanging trapeze bar.
The tower is what drives that number. Bars, springs and straps all sit above the table surface, which is why the frame matters as much as the table itself.
Clearance around and above the table
The extra height is not only for the frame. Someone on the table needs room to extend their arms and legs overhead, and an instructor needs to stand safely beside them without ducking under a beam or light fitting.
Check what hangs from your ceiling as well as the ceiling itself. Fans, downlights and sloping rooflines all reduce usable height.
Home rooms and commercial studios
Many homes and converted commercial spaces have standard ceilings, so confirm the product's height specification against your room before you buy. In a commercial studio, the same table has to sit alongside other equipment while keeping its overhead zone clear.
Whatever the room, proper form and qualified instruction matter on any Cadillac apparatus, and a trained teacher can advise how to use the space safely.
Before you buy: a quick room checklist
Grab a tape measure and run through these checks before you choose a model. Each one takes a few minutes and can save a lot of hassle on delivery day.
- Measure ceiling height at the exact spot where the Cadillac table will sit, not just the middle of the room. Check for sloping ceilings, beams, light fittings and ceiling fans.
- Compare that figure with the height specification on the product page for the model you are considering.
- Mark out the floor footprint with masking tape, then check you can reach and move around all sides of the table.
- Confirm the floor is level and suitable for a standalone apparatus with a tower frame.
- Measure doorways, hallways, corners and stairs along the delivery path, especially in homes and converted commercial spaces.
- Think about who else will use the room, such as an instructor or client, and any other equipment sharing the space.
- If you are unsure about any measurement, ask us before you order.
What if your room is tight on space or height?
Three ways to work around the room you have
If a full Cadillac table won't fit, there are practical alternatives, and we can match one to your measurements. Which one suits depends on whether your room is short on floor area, ceiling height, or both.
- Half trapeze reformer: a more practical option for home studios with standard ceiling heights.
- Freestanding trapeze tower attached to a reformer: needs no additional floor space, but it does add significant height.
- Wall-mounted trapeze tower: suits rooms with good ceiling clearance but limited floor area.
How a trapeze reformer differs from a Cadillac table
A full trapeze reformer builds the overhead frame onto a reformer carriage, so it takes up a different amount of floor space from a standalone Cadillac table.
If you already plan to own a half trapeze reformer or a tower setup, you may not need a separate table at all.
Getting a recommendation that fits
Send us your floor and ceiling measurements and we'll tell you which option suits the room, whether that's a home studio or a commercial space. If you're returning from an injury, check with your physiotherapist or doctor before using overhead apparatus.

Cadillac table space questions
Does a Cadillac table suit a home studio?
It can, if you have the floor area and ceiling height for it. Serious home practitioners with enough room do use one, but a half trapeze reformer is often more practical under standard ceilings. Check the Cadillac collection specifications first.
Will it fit under a standard-height ceiling?
Often not for the full range of exercises, since the hanging trapeze bar needs 220cm or more of overhead clearance. Measure your ceiling and compare it with the product's height specification before you buy.
Who usually uses a Cadillac table?
Most go to professional studios, physio clinics and teacher training facilities. Experienced home practitioners with adequate space use them too.
Can you advise from photos or measurements?
Yes. Send us your room measurements or a few photos and we'll help you judge fit. You can also visit our Sydney showroom to try before you buy.
Does injury history matter before I start?
Yes. If you're recovering from an injury, check with your doctor or physiotherapist before using any Pilates equipment, and learn proper form with a qualified instructor.
Planning a studio or home fit-out?
Send us your room measurements and we'll recommend a Cadillac setup that suits your space, or visit our Sydney showroom to try before you buy. Our Pioneer Cadillac table suits both home users and commercial studios, and we're happy to talk through packages for studio fit-outs.
