Why steel makes the difference in a Cadillac table
The frame carries everything
A Cadillac table hangs springs, bars and your body weight from a full overhead structure, so the whole apparatus depends on that frame staying rigid and true. That is why steel construction matters more here than on other Pilates equipment. A flexing or shifting frame changes how every spring feels and how safe every hanging exercise is.
The Cadillac table pairs a stainless steel structure with cast steel joints for added strength and accuracy, which suits daily use in a busy studio or a committed home setup.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then check the frame. A rigid steel structure is what keeps a Cadillac feeling steady session after session.
Pilates Direct Team, Pilates Reformer & Equipment Specialists
A standalone apparatus, not a reformer add-on
A Cadillac is an independent piece of equipment with its own raised, padded bed and overhead frame. It doesn't need a reformer base. Its springs work vertically and at angles from attachment points along the frame, which is quite different from the horizontal spring system on a reformer.
Two steel frame models we stock
We stock two steel frame Cadillac tables: the first model and the Pioneer. Both stand on their own beside your reformer, chair or barrel.

The first model combines a stainless steel structure and cast steel joints with knot-free reforested wood in a satin matte varnish. It reads as a refined piece, which suits a dedicated home room or a boutique studio.
The Pioneer centres on a stainless steel full trapeze tower with 16 carabine attachment points. Its Australian supplier also offers commercial fit-out packages, so it suits a larger studio floor.
If you prefer a warmer look, the Motion is a Canadian Maplewood option with black upholstery, supplied with its trapeze frame and attachments.

What comes with the table
A Cadillac arrives as a complete apparatus: its own raised, padded table plus a full overhead frame. Most models include these attachments.
- Push-through bar for guided resistance work from the table
- Roll-down bar for spinal articulation and abdominal work
- Arm springs, lighter, for upper body and standing exercises
- Leg springs, heavier, for lower body work and assisted stretching
- Trapeze bar for hanging and suspension exercises
- Push-down bar for additional spring-assisted movements
- Vertical and angled spring attachment points at varying heights on the frame
Will it fit your space?
A standalone Cadillac table needs about 240cm x 80cm of floor space and 220cm or more of overhead clearance for hanging trapeze bar exercises. The overhead frame typically stands around 200cm to 210cm high.
Dimensions vary between models, so check the exact measurements on the product page against your ceiling height before you buy. Our team can talk you through your room if you're unsure.
If your home studio has a standard ceiling, a half trapeze reformer is often the more practical choice. It gives you core attachment points without the full overhead structure.
Who a steel frame Cadillac suits best
Cadillac tables are commonly chosen by Pilates studios, physiotherapy clinics and teacher training facilities, and by serious home users with the floor space and ceiling height. They are generally better suited to intermediate and advanced practitioners, and proper form and qualified instruction matter on any apparatus.
It works alongside your studio reformer rather than replacing it, and many studios pair the two to offer a complete classical circuit. If you are a clinic or teaching facility, keep in mind that anyone returning from injury should be cleared by a physiotherapist or doctor first.
For larger projects, Pioneer's commercial fit-out packages are available by phone enquiry.
Common questions about Cadillac tables
Is a Cadillac table suitable for beginners?
Cadillac tables are best suited to intermediate and advanced practitioners, so beginners should start with qualified instruction. Whatever your level, proper form matters on this apparatus, and a trained instructor can guide which exercises and spring settings suit you.
How is a Cadillac different from a trapeze tower or half trapeze?
A Cadillac table is a standalone apparatus with its own padded bed and full overhead frame. A trapeze tower attaches to an existing reformer, while a half trapeze mounts to the end of a reformer and gives you core attachment points without the full overhead structure.
Does a Cadillac replace a reformer?
No, it complements one. Many studios pair the two to offer a complete classical Pilates circuit.
Can I use one at home?
Yes, if you have the room. You need about 240cm x 80cm of floor space and 220cm or more of overhead clearance. With a standard ceiling, a half trapeze reformer may be the more practical choice.
Can I try one before I buy, and who sets it up?
You can try before you buy at our Sydney showroom. We handle delivery and installation, with aftercare support once it is in place.
I'm recovering from an injury. Is a Cadillac table right for me?
Please check with your doctor or physiotherapist for clearance before using any Pilates equipment after an injury. We can't advise on whether an exercise is appropriate for your condition.
