Why a trapeze table earns its floor space
A trapeze table, also called a Cadillac table or Pilates table, is a standalone apparatus with a raised padded bed and a full overhead frame. Springs, bars and straps attach to that frame, which opens up exercises a reformer alone can't support, such as hanging and push-through work.
For buyers, the appeal is one frame that does a lot. Beginners can work at a gentle spring setting while advanced clients and instructors use the same table for more demanding sequences. That range suits a home where floor space matters and a studio where several client levels share equipment, so it tends to earn its footprint compared with a single-purpose machine.
Start with how you'll actually use it, then check the space. A trapeze table covers a lot of ground, so it's worth matching it to your ceiling height first.

If you've had an injury, get clearance from your physiotherapist or doctor first. Proper form and qualified instruction matter on any trapeze table.
Three ways to add a trapeze to your practice
You can add a trapeze as a standalone table, a half trapeze on a reformer, or a tower or wall-mounted unit. Each suits a different space and set-up.
- Standalone Cadillac table: a freestanding unit with a raised padded bed, full overhead frame, springs, bars and straps. It needs about 240cm x 80cm of floor space and 220cm+ overhead clearance for hanging exercises.
- Half trapeze on a reformer: the frame mounts to the reformer end and adds core attachment points without the full overhead structure. The Pioneer Pilates Half Trapeze Reformer package is one example.
- Trapeze tower or wall-mounted tower: a tower attaches to a compatible reformer and adds no floor space, only height. A wall-mounted tower fixes to your wall instead, a practical option where a freestanding unit won't fit.

Will a trapeze table fit in my space?
Probably, yes, provided you have the floor area and the ceiling height. A standalone Cadillac table needs about 240cm x 80cm of floor space, and a full trapeze package needs a minimum of 220cm of overhead clearance for hanging exercises.
A half trapeze reformer has lower clearance requirements, so it suits homes with standard ceiling heights. A pilates tower attached to an existing reformer adds no floor space, but it does add height. If a freestanding unit won't fit, the wall-mounted tower is a practical alternative.
Measure your room before you buy, then check the height specs on each listing. Bring your room measurements to the showroom, or send them through, and we'll look over the numbers with you.

Who a trapeze table suits, and what to check first
A trapeze table suits intermediate and advanced practitioners, physiotherapists and movement therapists, and studios running clinical rehab, spinal work or teacher training. Many of those studios treat trapeze equipment as essential. If you're newer to Pilates, we'd suggest building a base with qualified instruction first, because proper form matters on every piece of apparatus. Home buyers can be a good fit too, as long as ceiling height and floor space work.
Before you buy, check two things with us. Tower and half trapeze compatibility depends on your reformer's frame dimensions and end-cap configuration. Warranty also varies by brand, with the frame and overhead bar generally covered and springs and soft goods differing, and residential and commercial terms can differ.
Trapeze table questions we get asked
Will a trapeze tower or half trapeze fit my reformer?
It depends on your reformer's frame dimensions and end-cap configuration. Check the listing notes, or ask the Pilates Direct team before you buy, and we'll confirm compatibility.
How much ceiling height do I need at home?
A full trapeze needs at least 220cm overhead clearance for hanging exercises. Cadillac tables and half trapezes need less, and a wall-mounted tower suits homes where a freestanding unit won't fit.
Do you offer payment plans, second hand or commercial-grade pieces?
Yes. Our trapeze range comes with payment plans and rent to buy options, plus second hand and commercial-grade pieces. Warranty terms vary by brand, and residential and commercial terms can differ.
Not sure which trapeze fits your space?
Tell us your ceiling height and floor space, and we'll recommend the right trapeze. Visit our Sydney showroom, or browse the range first.
